Target Information
ROR2 (receptor tyrosine kinase-like orphan receptor 2) is a type I transmembrane protein belonging to the ROR subfamily of cell surface receptors. It is involved in early chondrocyte formation, cartilage development, and growth plate formation. Expression is high during early embryogenesis and decreases significantly by day 16, remaining low in adult tissues.
Defects in ROR2 cause:
- Brachydactyly type B1 (BDB1): Autosomal dominant skeletal disorder with hypoplasia/aplasia of distal phalanges and nails.
- Robinow syndrome (RRS): Autosomal recessive disorder with skeletal dysplasia, limb bone shortening, spinal defects, brachydactyly, and facial dysmorphism.
The protein contains:
- 1 frizzled (FZ) domain
- 1 immunoglobulin-like C2-type domain
- 1 kringle domain
