Target Information
The SOX gene family is defined by the Sry-related HMG box domain that mediates sequence-specific DNA binding. SOX proteins are involved in various developmental processes and are conserved across species. SOX21 may function as an activator of transcription of OPRM1, with overexpression leading to up-regulation of the OPRM1 distal promoter in neuronal cells.
