Product Specific Information

  • For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
  • For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Guanylate kinase (GK) catalyzes the ATP-dependent phosphorylation of GMP to GDP, essential for GMP and cGMP recycling. GK is a conserved monomeric protein (~200 amino acids) across species including E. coli, yeast, and vertebrates. Structurally, GK resembles Vaccinia virus protein A57R (SalG2R).
Proteins containing DHR, SH3, and GK-like domains form the MAGUK family, which includes:

  • Drosophila tumor suppressor protein dlg1
  • Mammalian tight junction protein Zo-1
  • Synaptic proteins SAP90/PSD-95, CHAPSYN-110/PSD-93, SAP97/DLG1, SAP102
  • Vertebrate erythrocyte membrane protein p55
  • C. elegans lin-2
  • Rat protein CASK
  • Human proteins DLG2 and DLG3

GK has an ATP-binding site (P-loop) in its N-terminal region, which is not conserved in GK-like domains of MAGUKs, though these retain residues for MP binding.
