Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

The CD40 antigen is a single-chain glycoprotein belonging to the tumor necrosis factor/nerve growth factor superfamily. It shows significant homology to the Hodgkin’s disease-associated antigen CD30. CD40 is expressed on all B cells except plasma cells, and also found on some epithelial cells, carcinomas, and lymphoid dendritic cells.

CD40 plays a crucial role in:

  • T cell-dependent immunoglobulin class switching
  • Memory B cell development
  • Germinal center formation

AT-hook transcription factor AKNA regulates CD40 expression, affecting homotypic cell interactions. Adaptor protein TNFR2 mediates CD40 signal transduction. The CD40–ligand interaction is essential for amyloid-beta-induced microglial activation, implicated in early Alzheimer’s disease pathogenesis. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding distinct isoforms have been reported.
