Product Specific Information

  • IHC (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • For formalin-fixed tissues: Heat tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C, then cool at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

The ACE gene encodes an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of angiotensin I into angiotensin II, a potent vasopressor and aldosterone-stimulating peptide regulating blood pressure and fluid-electrolyte balance.
This enzyme is a key component of the renin–angiotensin system. Variations in this gene, such as the presence or absence of a 287 bp Alu repeat element, have been linked to circulating enzyme levels and cardiovascular pathophysiology.
Two major alternatively spliced variants encode somatic and testicular isoforms, both enzymatically active. Additional variants exist but their full-length sequences are not fully characterized.
