Target Information
AKT2 is a phosphoinositide-dependent serine/threonine protein kinase enriched in insulin-responsive tissues and implicated in the metabolic actions of insulin.
Akt participates in multiple cellular signaling pathways and acts as a transducer of growth factor receptor functions that activate PI 3-kinase.
AKT2 is amplified and overexpressed in certain human cancers.
