Product Specific Information
Immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed): Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature. Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 minutes at 95°C followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.
Target Information
CD50 (intracellular adhesion molecule 3, ICAM-3) is a transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by leukocytes and serves as a counter-receptor for the lymphocyte function-associated antigen (LFA)-1 integrin. It functions as an adhesive molecule mediating contact between T cells and antigen-presenting cells, regulating LFA-1 affinity for ICAM-1, and inducing T cell activation and proliferation. ICAM-3 plays a crucial role in initiating immune responses on both T cells and antigen-presenting cells. It also interacts with CD209 (DC-SIGN), a C-type lectin of dendritic cells and macrophages, facilitating communication between dendritic cells and granulocytes.
