Target Information
ELL is an elongation factor component of the super elongation complex (SEC), which enhances RNA polymerase II transcriptional elongation by suppressing transient pausing. It also functions within the little elongation complex (LEC) to regulate small nuclear RNA (snRNA) gene transcription by RNA polymerase II and III. ELL stabilizes RNA polymerase II recruitment and initiation, supporting pre-initiation complex formation and early elongation.
