Target Information
The AHI1 gene is required for both cerebellar and cortical development in humans. Mutations in this gene cause specific forms of Joubert syndrome-related disorders, which are recessively inherited developmental brain disorders with several identified causative chromosomal loci. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
