Target Information
CatSper4 is a protein encoded by the CATSPER4 gene in humans. It is a member of the cation channels of sperm family. The four proteins in this family form a Ca²⁺-permeant ion channel essential for sperm function. This voltage-gated calcium channel plays a central role in calcium-dependent physiological responses required for successful fertilization, including sperm hyperactivation, acrosome reaction, and chemotaxis toward the oocyte.
