Product Specific Information
Recombinant Human sRANK Ligand is a 20.0 kDa polypeptide comprising the TNF-homologous region of RANKL (176 amino acid residues).
This product is shipped at ambient temperature. For storage, handling, and reconstitution information, please refer to the lot-specific Certificate of Analysis.
Target Information
This gene encodes a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) cytokine family which acts as a ligand for osteoprotegerin, functioning as a key factor in osteoclast differentiation and activation. It serves as a dendritic cell survival factor and regulates T cell-dependent immune responses.
T cell activation induces expression of this gene, promoting osteoclastogenesis and bone resorption. It activates antiapoptotic kinase AKT/PKB through a signaling complex involving SRC kinase and TRAF6, suggesting a role in apoptosis regulation.
Gene disruption in mice results in severe osteopetrosis, absence of osteoclasts, defects in T/B lymphocyte differentiation, and failure to form mammary structures during pregnancy. Two alternatively spliced transcript variants have been identified.
For Research Use Only. Not for use in diagnostic procedures. Not for resale without express authorization.
