Target Information
P504S/AMACR (α-Methylacyl-CoA Racemase) is an essential enzyme involved in the β-oxidation of branched-chain fatty acids. High expression of P504S is observed in prostatic adenocarcinoma but not in benign prostate tissue by immunohistochemical staining of paraffin-embedded samples. Expression is also detected in premalignant prostate lesions, including high-grade prostatic intraepithelial neoplasia (PIN) and atypical adenomatous hyperplasia.
