Target Information
Laminins are extracellular matrix glycoproteins and major non-collagenous components of basement membranes. They are involved in cell adhesion, differentiation, migration, signaling, neurite outgrowth, and metastasis. Laminins consist of three non-identical chains—alpha, beta, and gamma (formerly A, B1, and B2)—forming a cruciform structure. Defects in the LMNB1 gene can cause adult-onset autosomal dominant leukodystrophy (ADLD).
