FKBP6는 FK506 및 rapamycin과 결합하는 cis-trans prolyl isomerase입니다.
이 유전자는 interferon regulatory transcription factor (IRF) 패밀리의 구성원을 암호화하며, N-말단에 보존된 helix-turn-helix DNA 결합 도메인과 C-말단의 단백질 결합 도메인을 가집니다.
해당 유전자 변이는 van der Woude syndrome 및 popliteal pterygium syndrome을 유발할 수 있으며, 구개 형성에 관여합니다.
