Target Information
Apolipoprotein L1 (APOL1) is a secreted high-density lipoprotein that binds to apolipoprotein A-I, the major apoprotein of HDL. It plays a role in cholesterol ester formation and promotes cholesterol efflux from cells. This protein may contribute to lipid exchange and transport throughout the body and in reverse cholesterol transport from peripheral cells to the liver.
