CYP2C9은 cytochrome P450 효소 초가족의 구성원으로, 약물 대사 및 콜레스테롤, 스테로이드, 기타 지질의 합성에 관여하는 monooxygenase입니다. 이 단백질은 소포체에 위치하며, rifampin에 의해 발현이 유도됩니다. 또한 phenytoin, tolbutamide, ibuprofen, S-warfarin 등 다양한 xenobiotic 물질을 대사하는 것으로 알려져 있습니다.
