MCP-3 (CCL7) is a secreted chemokine that attracts macrophages during inflammation and metastasis. It belongs to the C-C chemokine subfamily, characterized by two adjacent cysteine residues. MCP-3 is an in vivo substrate of matrix metalloproteinase 2 (MMP2), an enzyme that degrades extracellular matrix components.
