Target Information
The WNT gene family encodes secreted signaling proteins involved in oncogenesis and developmental processes such as regulation of cell fate and patterning during embryogenesis.
WNT16 contains two transcript variants diverging at the 5′ termini, proposed to be products of separate promoters.
Variant 2 is expressed mainly in the pancreas, while variant 1 shows broader expression in adult kidney, placenta, brain, heart, and spleen.
WNT15 acts as a ligand for members of the frizzled family of seven-transmembrane receptors.
