Target Information
C1orf57, also known as nucleoside triphosphate phosphohydrolase, belongs to the THEP1 NTPase family. It is a 190 amino acid protein with nucleotide phosphatase activity toward ATP, GTP, TTP, CTP, and UTP.
Acting as a monomer, it also hydrolyzes nucleoside diphosphates with lower efficiency.
The gene encoding C1orf57 maps to human chromosome 1, which spans about 260 million base pairs and contains approximately 3,000 genes.
Chromosome 1 is associated with various diseases, including Hutchinson-Gilford progeria (LMNA gene), familial adenomatous polyposis (MUTYH gene), Stickler syndrome, Parkinson’s disease, Gaucher disease, and Usher syndrome.
