Recombinant Human IL-22 is a 33.6 kDa, non-disulfide-linked, homodimeric protein consisting of two 147 amino acid polypeptide chains.

Target Information
IL-22, also known as IL-10-related T-cell derived inducible factor, is an alpha-helical cytokine and a member of the IFN–IL-10 family (including IL-19, IL-20, IL-24, IL-26, IL-28, IL-29, and type I/II interferons).
Produced mainly by activated T cells and NK cells, IL-22 gene is located on chromosome 12q and structurally related to IL-10.
It acts through the heterodimeric receptor complex IL-22R1 and IL-10R2, triggering JAK-STAT pathway signaling.
A soluble IL-22 receptor (IL-22BP) antagonizes IL-22 binding and signaling.
IL-22 primarily targets nonimmune cells such as skin, digestive, respiratory epithelial cells, hepatocytes, and keratinocytes.
It functions as an effector cytokine of the Th17 lineage, regulating genes associated with innate skin immunity along with IL-17A and IL-17F.
IL-22 induces acute phase reactants, antimicrobial proteins, and enhances keratinocyte mobility.
It is upregulated during chronic inflammation, activating intracellular kinases and transcription factors, and plays a critical role in host defense against extracellular pathogens and wound healing.
IL-22 mediates IL-23-induced acanthosis and dermal inflammation via STAT3 activation.
