Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and play a key role in mitochondrial protein synthesis.
Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of:
- Small 28S subunit
- Large 39S subunit
They have an estimated 75% protein to rRNA ratio, unlike prokaryotic ribosomes where this ratio is reversed.
Prokaryotic ribosomes contain a 5S rRNA, which mammalian mitoribosomes lack.
Among species, mitoribosomal proteins vary significantly in sequence and biochemical properties, making homology-based identification difficult.
This gene encodes a 39S subunit protein.
