Target Information
Fibulin 5 is essential for elastic fiber formation and involved in the assembly of continuous elastin (ELN) polymer. It promotes the interaction between microfibrils and ELN, stabilizing and organizing elastic fibers in the skin, lung, and vasculature.
Also promotes endothelial cell adhesion through interaction with integrins and the RGD motif, acting as a vascular ligand potentially involved in vascular development and remodeling.
