Target Information
MSH5 is a member of the mutS family of proteins involved in DNA mismatch repair and meiotic recombination.
This protein is similar to the Saccharomyces cerevisiae homolog that contributes to meiotic segregation fidelity and crossing-over.
It forms heterooligomers with mutS homolog 4.
Alternative splicing results in four transcript variants encoding three different isoforms.
