Annexin A2는 calcium-dependent phospholipid-binding 단백질 계열의 멤버로, 세포 성장 조절 및 신호전달 경로에서 중요한 역할을 합니다.
이 단백질은 autocrine factor로 작용하여 osteoclast 형성과 골흡수를 촉진합니다.
이 유전자는 염색체 4, 9, 10에 각각 세 개의 pseudogene을 가지며, 다양한 스플라이싱 변이체가 보고되었습니다.
