Target Information
ANKK1 serine/threonine kinase is a member of the RIPK family and is closely linked to the DRD2 gene. ANKK1 is located on chromosome 11, near DRD2, and a restriction fragment length polymorphism designated TaqIA was originally associated with DRD2 but later found to be located in exon 8 of ANKK1, causing a nonconservative amino acid substitution. The role of ANKK1 in neuropsychiatric disorders previously associated with Taq1A RFLP remains unclear.
