Product Specific Information

The MAb11 antibody reacts with human tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF alpha), a 17 kDa cytokine produced by monocytes, macrophages, neutrophils, NK cells, and CD4+ T cells. TNF alpha exhibits cytolytic activity against various tumor cells and plays a key role in immune regulation. It exists in soluble (17 kDa) and membrane-bound (26 kDa) forms and can form dimers or trimers.
This MAb11 antibody is a neutralizing antibody.

Target Information

TNF alpha is a multifunctional proinflammatory cytokine belonging to the TNF superfamily. It is mainly secreted by macrophages and binds to TNFRSF1A/TNFR1 and TNFRSF1B/TNFBR receptors. TNF alpha regulates immune responses, cell proliferation, differentiation, apoptosis, lipid metabolism, and coagulation.
It typically appears as a 17 kDa band under non-reducing SDS-PAGE conditions and can form multimers (dimers, trimers, pentamers).
TNF alpha has been implicated in immune defense, tumor necrosis, and various diseases including autoimmune disorders, insulin resistance, and cancer.
