Target Information

Spi-B is a transcription factor belonging to the ETS family with a conserved ETS domain that mediates specific DNA binding. It can form homotypic interactions and interacts with IRF4, CREBBP, EP300, SPI1/PU.1, JUN, and TBP. As a sequence-specific transcriptional activator, it binds to the PU-box (5'-GAGGAA-3'), acting as a lymphoid-specific enhancer. Two isoforms of Spi-B are reported. It is mainly expressed in plasmacytoid dendritic cells (pDCs) and promotes their development and antiviral responses. Spi-B is not expressed in T-cells or granulocytes but may be present in liver stem cells and B-cells, contributing to B-cell receptor signaling and normal B-cell development.
