The C67F154 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD11b. CD11b (integrin alpha-M) is a 165 kDa adhesion molecule that associates with integrin beta-2 (CD18) to form the CD11b/CD18 heterodimeric complex, also known as integrin alpha-M beta-2, Mac-1, or CR3. CD11b is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, subsets of NK and dendritic cells, and microglia. It functions as a receptor for ICAM-1, ICAM-2, ICAM-4, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X, mediating cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.

Applications Reported: Immunohistochemistry and western blotting.
Applications Tested: IHC of formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded tissue using high pH antigen retrieval at 20 µg/mL. Optimize dilution for best results.

Usage Note: Centrifuge conjugate solution briefly and use only the supernatant to remove protein aggregates and reduce nonspecific background staining.

Target Information

CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) is a 165 kDa adhesion molecule forming a heterodimer with CD18. It is expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, subsets of NK and dendritic cells, and microglia. CD11b/CD18 functions as a receptor for multiple ligands involved in adhesion and immune responses. Expression varies by cell type and maturation stage and is commonly used as a microglial marker. Dysregulation is associated with systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related autoimmune susceptibility.
