RPS6KB1 (p70S6K)는 serine/threonine kinase로, S6 ribosomal protein의 여러 잔기를 인산화합니다. 주로 세포질에 존재하며, 성장 인자에 의해 조절되는 세포 증식, 세포 이동, 면역 반응 및 조직 복구 경로에 필수적입니다.
이 단백질은 phosphoinositide (PI) 3-kinase 경로의 하위에서 작용하며, 주요 생리학적 표적은 단백질 합성 증가에 관여하는 S6 ribosomal protein입니다.
p70 S6 kinase의 활성은 단백질 합성과 세포 증식을 촉진하며, 일부 유방암 세포주에서 DNA 증폭 및 과발현이 관찰됩니다.
