Target Information
This gene encodes two proteins, the SART1 protein expressed in the nucleus of proliferating cells, and the SART1 protein expressed in the cytosol of epithelial cancers. The SART1 protein is translated by -1 frameshifting during posttranscriptional regulation; its full-length sequence is not yet published. Both proteins are involved in proliferation regulation and possess tumor-rejection antigens. The SART1 protein contains epitopes capable of inducing HLA-A2402-restricted cytotoxic T lymphocytes in cancer patients, suggesting potential utility in specific immunotherapy and diagnostic applications. It is also essential for tri-snRNP recruitment in spliceosome assembly.
