Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene belongs to the dual specificity protein phosphatase family. It functions as a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor and interacts with, and dephosphorylates CDK2 kinase, preventing its activation. CDKN3 has been reported to be deleted, mutated, or overexpressed in various cancers. Alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have also been identified.
