Target Information
Isocitrate dehydrogenases (IDH1) catalyze the oxidative decarboxylation of isocitrate to 2-oxoglutarate. These enzymes are divided into two subclasses: NAD(+)-dependent and NADP(+)-dependent.
Five isocitrate dehydrogenases have been identified:
- Three NAD(+)-dependent forms localized to the mitochondrial matrix
- Two NADP(+)-dependent forms, one mitochondrial and one cytosolic
The protein encoded by the IDH1 gene is the NADP(+)-dependent isocitrate dehydrogenase found in the cytoplasm and peroxisomes. It contains a PTS-1 peroxisomal targeting signal and plays a role in regenerating NADPH for intraperoxisomal reductions and cytoplasmic NADPH production.
This antibody product is specific for IDH1 (mutant R132H).
