Target Information
Potassium voltage-gated channel subfamily A member 4 (Kv1.4, PCN2) is encoded by the KCNA4 gene in humans.
This protein belongs to the voltage-gated, shaker-related potassium channel family and is mapped to 11p14.1.
KCNA4 contributes to the A-type potassium current, regulating the fast repolarizing phase of cardiac action potentials and influencing cardiac action potential duration.
It also contributes to the cardiac transient outward potassium current (Ito1), the main current responsible for phase 1 repolarization.
KCNA4 interacts with DLG4, KCNA2, and DLG1.
