이 단백질은 cyclin E- 및 cyclin A-CDK2 복합체의 강력한 억제제이며, cyclin D-CDK4 복합체의 조립, 안정성, 활성 조절에 관여합니다.
p27 Kip1의 인산화 상태 및 농도에 따라 억제자 또는 활성화자로 작용할 수 있으며, 약 27 kDa의 분자량을 가집니다.
CDK 의존적 인산화 및 SCF 복합체에 의한 유비퀴틴화로 인한 분해는 세포가 휴지기에서 증식기로 전환되는 데 필수적입니다.
