Target Information

The RNF6 protein contains a RING-H2 finger motif. Deletions and mutations in this gene have been detected in esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (ESCC), suggesting a potential tumor suppressor role. Mouse studies indicate involvement in transcriptional regulation controlling germinal differentiation. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein are observed.
