Target Information
GPR83 is a 423 amino acid orphan member of the GPCR protein family, closely related to tachykinin and NPY receptors. It is the human homolog of mouse GIR protein and is selectively up-regulated in brain tissue. This cell surface receptor contains a putative seven-transmembrane domain and may play a role in regulating immune tolerance by inducing peripheral generation of Foxp3+ Treg cells.
