Target Information
The cysteine and histidine-rich domain (CHORD)-containing protein (CHORDC1) is part of a conserved family that includes plant protein RAR1 and mammalian melusin. In mammals, CHORDC1 acts as an ADP-dependent HSP90-interacting protein, with this interaction relying on HSP90’s nucleotide-binding ability. Studies show CHORDC1 mRNA is diurnally regulated in mouse hypothalamus and changes during development, suggesting a role in circadian mechanisms in the mammalian brain.
