Target Information
Peroxiredoxin (Prx)는 세포 증식, 분화, 그리고 세포사(apoptosis)와 관련된 퍼옥시다제(peroxidase) 패밀리입니다. 약 50종의 단백질로 구성되며, 활성 부위 시스테인 잔기를 포함하는 아미노산 서열의 상동성에 따라 분류됩니다.
포유류 Prx는 typical 2-Cys, atypical 2-Cys, 그리고 1-Cys Prx의 세 그룹으로 나뉘며, Prx VI를 제외한 2-Cys Prx들은 thioredoxin, thioredoxin reductase, NADPH를 이용한 thioredoxin-dependent peroxidase (TPx) 활성을 가집니다.
Prx 단백질은 20~30 kDa 크기이며, 세포 내 다양한 위치에 존재합니다: Prx I, II, VI는 cytosol, Prx III는 mitochondria, Prx IV는 ER 및 분비계, Prx V는 peroxisome, mitochondria, cytosol에 분포합니다.
