PEP-0324 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20194.
Target Information
BAP31 (B-Cell Receptor Associated Protein, 31-kDa) is a multiple membrane-spanning protein of the endoplasmic reticulum. It forms both homo- and hetero-oligomers with BAP29 and acts as a potential apoptotic regulator associated with BCL-2/BCL-XL.
The C-terminal domain of BAP31 contains two identical recognition sites for initiator Caspases 1 and 8, involved in the programmed cell death cascade.
BAP31 is hypothesized to play a role in the transport of selected proteins to the Golgi apparatus and regulates CFTR (cystic fibrosis transmembrane conductance regulator) expression.
Interference with BAP31 function in epithelial cells may help circumvent chloride channel defects in cystic fibrosis.
