Target Information
The MLX gene encodes a member of the basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper (bHLH-Zip) transcription factor family. These proteins form heterodimers with Mad proteins and play roles in proliferation, determination, and differentiation. MLX may diversify Mad family function through selective association with specific Mad repressors such as Mad1 and Mad4. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
