이 단백질은 유사분열 진행과 DNA 손상 후 세포주기 재진입을 촉진하며, PP2A/B55 delta 억제를 통해 작용합니다.
MASTL의 과발현은 암 진행, 낮은 생존율, 종양 재발과 관련이 있으며, 돌연변이는 상염색체 우성 혈소판감소증(Thrombocytopenia-2)과 연관되어 있습니다.
