Target Information
Thyroxine-binding globulin (TBG), transthyretin, 그리고 albumin은 혈류 내에서 갑상선 호르몬인 thyroxine (T4)과 3,5,3'-triiodothyronine (T3)을 운반하는 세 가지 주요 단백질입니다.
이 유전자는 혈청 내 주요 갑상선 호르몬 운반 단백질인 TBG를 암호화하며, serpin 계열에 속하지만 다른 serpin 단백질과 달리 억제 기능은 없습니다.
이 유전자의 변이는 혈청 TBG 수준에 따라 부분 결핍, 완전 결핍, 과잉으로 분류되는 TBG 결핍증을 유발합니다.
다양한 아이소폼을 암호화하는 전사 변이체가 발견되었으나, 이들의 완전한 길이는 아직 규명되지 않았습니다.
