Target Information
O6-Methylguanine-DNA Methyltransferase (MGMT) is a DNA repair protein that plays a key role in tumor cell resistance to chemotherapeutic alkylating agents. It protects normal cells from genotoxic and carcinogenic effects by removing alkyl groups from the O6 position of guanine. MGMT expression and activity vary widely depending on cell type, tissue, species, and tumor characteristics.
