Target Information
Members of the winged-helix/forkhead family of transcription factors, such as FOXN4, possess a 110-amino acid DNA-binding domain forming a variant helix-turn-helix motif with three alpha helices and two large wings. These transcription factors are key regulators in developmental and metabolic processes (Li et al., 2004 [PubMed 15363391]; OMIM, Mar 2008).
