Product Specific Information

The HIR2 monoclonal antibody reacts with human glycophorin A, a sialoglycoprotein expressed by erythroid precursors and mature circulating red cells.

• Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
• Applications Tested: Pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometry on normal human peripheral blood cells
  • Recommended use: 5 µL (0.03 µg) per test (100 µL final volume)
  • Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test

Super Bright 645 is a tandem dye excited with the violet laser (405 nm) and emits at 645 nm. Recommended detection filter: 660/20 bandpass.

When using multiple Super Bright dye-conjugated antibodies, use Super Bright Complete Staining Buffer (Product # SB-4401) to minimize non-specific polymer interactions.

Light Sensitivity: Protect vial and stained samples from light.
Fixation: Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product # 00-8222) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product # 00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal effect on brightness and FRET efficiency.

Target Information

CD235a (Glycophorin A, GPA) is a single-pass membrane sialoglycoprotein expressed in mature erythrocytes and erythroid precursor cells. It carries blood group M and N specificities and provides a mucin-like barrier reducing red blood cell aggregation. CD235a also acts as a receptor for Sandei virus, parvovirus, and Streptococcus adhesin Hsa.
