Target Information
Upon serum stimulation, KIS, a member of the Ser/Thr protein kinase family, phosphorylates CDKN1B/p27Kip1, controlling CDKN1B subcellular location and cell cycle progression in G1 phase.
This protein contains one RNA recognition motif (RRM) domain and may be involved in RNA trafficking or processing.
KIS is widely expressed, with highest levels in skeletal muscle, kidney, placenta, and peripheral blood leukocytes.
