Target Information
The zinc fingers and homeoboxes (ZHX) gene family encodes nuclear homodimeric transcriptional repressors that interact with the A subunit of nuclear factor-Y (NF-YA). These proteins contain two C2H2-type zinc fingers and five homeobox DNA-binding domains.
ZHX1 forms homodimers and heterodimers with ZHX2 and ZHX3 family members. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding the same protein.
