Target Information
GAPDH (Glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase)는 해당과정(glycolysis)에 관여하는 효소로, 네 개의 동일한 37 kDa 소단위체로 구성된 테트라머 형태로 존재합니다.
NADPH 존재하에 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate를 glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate로 가역적으로 환원시키는 반응을 촉매합니다.
GAPDH는 대부분의 조직에서 높은 수준으로 발현되어 Western blot 분석 시 단백질 로딩 컨트롤로 널리 사용됩니다.
또한 DNA 복제 및 수선, RNA 수출, 막 융합, 미세소관 결합 등 다양한 세포 과정에 관여하며, 신경퇴행성 질환 및 세포사멸(apoptosis)과 관련된 유전자 발현에도 중요한 역할을 합니다.
