Target Information
Anti-human Polynucleotide Kinase (PNK) Polyclonal Antibody recognizes PNK, a 57 kDa nuclear enzyme involved in DNA strand repair during replication and recombination, or in response to DNA damage.
PNK acts on DNA 5′-hydroxy and 3′-phosphate termini for phosphorylation and dephosphorylation.
During strand breakage in human cells, PNK interacts with nuclear proteins to prepare DNA termini for DNA polymerase-β and DNA ligase III activity.
PNK is essential for maintaining genomic stability in human cells.
