Target Information
The CD166 (ALCAM) gene encodes the activated leukocyte cell adhesion molecule, a member of the immunoglobulin receptor subfamily with five immunoglobulin-like domains (VVC2C2C2) in its extracellular region. It binds to T-cell differentiation antigen CD6 and plays a role in cell adhesion and migration. Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
